As much as I love and cherish this first picture of my new family of four, this is the day that everything began to unravel for me.

Hey there mama! My name is Katie. I am a life coach to Anxious Mamas, a psychology and Human Services professor, a wife, and a mother to two adorable little girls. Like many of you, I've struggled with anxiety for my entire life. I remember having my first panic attack when I was 10 years old and it just got worse year after year. After the birth of my second daughter, I had what you can pretty much call a mental breakdown. My anxiety was so bad that I could barely function from day to day. I wasn't eating. I wasn't sleeping. And I started having terrible trouble with obsessive compulsive disorder; to the point where I couldn't throw anything away. I couldn't take a piece of lint off my sleeve without worrying about having to see it again! I was at the absolute end of my rope and desperate to turn my life around.

 

My husband Jake and I spent day after day combing the internet and reaching out to professionals to try to help me rebuild my mental health, but this time, better than it ever had been. I spent months working on myself and I'm proud to say that I have the best mental health I've ever had in my entire life. I soon decided that I didn't want any other moms to have to go through what I went through and that I should reach out and share my success with all of you.

 

I believe that every mom is entitled to living their best life and that it actually is pretty simple once you have the right tools.

 

Fun facts: When I'm not cultivating my coaching business I am most likely teaching or writing, hanging out with my little family, or crafting it up! I am a die-hard DIYer.
