What if I told you that Magnesium is my secret weapon for fighting anxiety, stress, and sleepless nights? Would you believe me? Did you know that almost 75% of the population is magnesium-deficient which can lead to a whole slew of issues like anxiety, depression, high blood pressure, migraines, constipation, muscle cramps, hormone problems, low energy, and sleep problems?
I had no idea that I was magnesium-deficient until I talked with a naturopathic doctor. Magnesium (or the lack thereof) never came up in the countless conversations I'd had with medical doctors and psychiatrists over the years. Was it possible that adding magnesium rich foods and a high-quality magnesium supplement could help me with my anxiety?

You betcha! I went from high anxiety, racing thoughts, racing heart, constant panic attacks, trouble falling asleep, and trouble staying asleep to being as calm as a cucumber and sleeping like a little kitten through the night. In combination with a few other approaches (stay tuned to future posts), I have never felt better! Seriously! Aside from a magnesium supplement (this is the one I take), here a few natural ways to add more magnesium to your life:
-green leafy vegetables (spinach, chard, kale)
-seeds (pumpkin, flax, and chia)
-brown rice
-yogurt
-nuts (almonds, cashews, Brazil nuts)
-avocado
-banana
-dark chocolate
-legumes (black beans, lentils, chickpeas)
What's your favorite magnesium-rich food?
